Our Mini Vacation to Orlando for the 4th of July and My Birthday.

As the 4th came closer we started talking more about the traffic from the parking lot to the highway that is less then a mile away. Last year it took us 4 hours to get home and we live less then an hour away; took almost 3 hours just to get on the freeway. So this year that wasn’t about to happen again we found a hotel that was within walking distance but NOT a resort for our 1 night stay. So we drove up early on Saturday and spent the day at the outlets doing some birthday shopping and then at Downtown Disney riding the train and visiting all the neat shops playing with Lego's etc. Around 3 we checked into the hotel and chilled out by the pool. We ended up going back to the outlets for a little bit so K could play on the playscape. We went back to our room and got ready and headed to the Market place to watch the fireworks. We walked in so only took 20 mins to get there. That was fun we all had a blast on our walk and talk and singing silly songs as we walked. We got to the Market and saw all the fireworks and then afterwards we did a little shopping to get k another light up toy. It’s just something that we do every 4th of JULY. Then he rode on the train and then it was the hike back to the hotel half a mile away. On the walk back K didn’t want to walk anymore so Isaac carried him but then K wanted to sleep laying down so Isaac carried him like a little baby and I carried his shoes and he fell asleep like that. He awoke when we got back to the hotel so he walked to the room and then he had about 10 mins of energy and then crashed in his make shift bed since he didn’t want to sleep on the bed. He crashed for the night but it had been a long night so what would you expect of a 4 yr old. On Sunday we just chilled in the early A.M. until the pool opened and then Isaac and K went for a dip in the pool for a little bit until it was time to pack up to head out. We checked out and again headed to the outlets as I was looking for sunglasses and wanted to hit the crocs store as K is a little obsessed with his crocs. I never found a good pair of sunglasses at the outlets but K found the perfect pair of crocs and some croc decorations. K rode on the train at the outlets for 10 mins once it started as right after he loaded we got hit with a HUGE rain storm. That lasted about 15 mins. But I was so proud because there was thunder and K was calm. He freaks out at home but not in the car or in malls etc. We finally left and headed for home and I had the idea of checking out the local Target to see if they had some of the cars from the movie that K man wanted. No such luck. So we were once again on the track for home and we hit that same storm that hit us in Orlando. Was really neat seeing all the lightening strikes from the car! K was sleeping by this point so he had no idea what we were coming home to. Well that was our mini vacation.
