Our Family challenge to YOU

We challenge you to donate something to the Salvation Army RED buckets. More people are in need this year then normal and less are giving. We aren't setting an amount for each bucket because I know some of scraping by and some just don't carry much change. Whatever the reason remember how lucky we are to be able to go into those stores and buy our love ones gifts and put food on the table. Most people Will pass at least 10 buckets within the season and if we just put in a $1.00 in each one that is $10..$.25 cents = 2.50. Give a penny if that is all you can give but please give.

Remember the spirit of Christmas.

It's one of our traditions. Today we started with watching the Macy parade and getting the turkey cooking and all the other goodies going. We are thankful for each other, our family and friends. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and Please all BE SAFE driving home tonight and Shopping in the AM.

What is a control Journal?

As most people who know me in person know how organized I am and "Everything has it's place." Type of person. Well Even me needs a little guide to help me remember all the things that I would like to get done within the day. Now I'll be honest my house isn't always in shape for people to stop by but hey we have a son and he is priority so some days there are just not enough hours in the day or we just want to play ALL day. So even being organized I still need help with keeping me focused on the each task and then I am done within an hour every day and can keep up with our daily schedule of playdates/park trips/Errands etc.. Ok that last one is my major issue that this journal has helped me with. I have been known to take weeks to get a letter out that sometimes i just see it by the door and then I toss it because it was suppose to go out a year ago..LOL ok I'm not that bad but now I can get those letters/cards out within reason now. Well here is a small look at our family's control journal

Cover

Our Morning:afternoon schedules

Our daily schedule
What I didn't post a pic of:
Weekly zones:Each week there is a zone where you do a deep cleaning of that area..This week it's the main bathroom and spare room
Our address's
Emergency numbers and directions to our house from 2 different directions (mainly for babysitters..If I ever trust anyone to come here and watch my pride and joy)
Our families and close friends phone numbers for emergency contacts
List of family favorite place to vacation with numbers or hotels/cabins/condos places we like to eat at/ activies in the area and near by stores and emergency numbers etc.
K's school test scores for each MONTH..Yes he is tested every month
our holiday plans : This covers getting ready for the holiday's (Thanksgiving/Christmas) Gift check list each year a new sheet is printed out <--that is for buying and also making. The gift list also has many sections to write where you hid the gift at, if it's been wrapped, has it shipped out if YES what is the tracking code. Our traditions from meals to actives to how we decorate every year and also a space to write in new traditions we'd like to start.
Now even with this journal and with my natural ability to organize you are likely to find clothes on our couch at least once a week and toys in the hallway daily left overs a week old in the fridge at least once a month and a new dog named bingo under our couch once a month. Oh and let me tell you Bingo is a sneaky dog he seems to run to another hiding spot for me to find the next week as I move ZONES.

Camping 2008

Well it started out we were going to do that whole tent thing...Just for the experience for K. Well come the day I made the reservations I chickened out and got a cabin. Yeah we stayed at the KOA had Cable TV and WiFi oh yeah the 2 most important thing was we slept on beds and had HEAT.

So this trip was just a short 2 day get out of town trip. Something Isaac and I we're known to do before K was born so was nice to get back to who we are with our random trips of departure. Ok so we left at 4Am for the 5 hour drive to Savannah Ga. Savannah was our first REAL stop on our way to the South Carolina KOA. Kayden was really excited he knew we were going on a trip but he really didn't know as he had never

Done anything like this before. Trips for him had only been to a Hotel in cities. But anyway's, I finally crashed about Port Orange still no luck with K. Isaacs plan of both of sleeping up there didn't work I woke up 15 mins before Jacksonville and took this Pic of K in his carseat and the road in front of us.

K is playing with his Toy Cell Phone

We then Headed through Jacksonville through the many Twist and turns they have on the FREEWAY. Dude there was a 75 Degree turn on the freeway had to go from 70mph to 20mph. Ok so whoever designed this freeway mess had to be on something or they left the plans out and their child drew on it with black marker. Pure craziness. But I have to say K was cracking up over all this twisting and turnings. I think he is going to be my roller coaster child.
Finished the wild drive through Jacksonville and then he finally crashed until we stopped for gas right over the boarder. $2.59.WOW and I never thought we’d buy gas under $3.00 again. POTTY BREAK and Run around time.

We headed up to Savannah, GA to go explorer some History. Oh I never get car sick and well driving on all the cobble roads by the river was about to push I over the edge. Mind you this was EXTREME cobble stone not like what we have now days. Like real stones not the smooth stones like we have NOW. It only took an hour but we found parking. We parked and headed down to the riverfront and then it hit. My camera BROKE. We kept trying but no LUCK. We did a little looking around but due to the cold and no camera we took off to go check in at the camp ground. We plan to come to Savannah again after the New Year.
We we’re there within the hour and we set up the cabin and the laptop. We had to find the Wal-Mart to grab some stuff. Well I left that to Isaac. If you don’t know Isaac that means AWWW CRAP I wasn’t thinking. We got off the freeway and all he tells me is it’s this way. We drove that way 5 mins and I tell him it’s the other side. “NO it’s this way, I know it is.” (Magnetic booger is activated) We keep on going for another 20 mins. Mind you I told him he was wrong since the 5 min mark. I finally got him to turn around and sure enough Wal-Mart was just on the other side of the freeway. All He could say was “OH SHUT UP” While laughing. But if you knew his past of directions; while on vacation. Yeah all in all he goes the Opposite of what I tell him and well he has yet to be right. Well shopping is shopping but we had to also pick up something for smores. We got hotdog roasters to do the job.
Yeah so we couldn’t figure out what to eat so we went to crackle Barrel instead. Cost only $22.00 to feed all 3 of us and we were stuffed so all was well. Not the best service but boy was the food good. I think our waitress might have been scared of children. Both tables with children she had in her area got bad service. I felt bad for her but how can you not like children. I just hope it was an off day and hope her day only got better later on.
We got back to camp and Isaac took K to go buy some wood for the camp fire and I was online wasting time and staying warm. Oh I guess I should tell you the Temperature was 68 degrees. I looked up the weather for our trip so we we’re ready for it minus we don’t have those poofy jackets. About 15 min’s later K came running up to the cabin door and yelling for me to come out and see what he made. He was so excited for he has never seen a camp fire. I went out there as the fire was now starting. I ran back in and grabbed the camera and it’s taking OK night pictures. So it has a light issue. We’ll I snapped away so the pictures will tell the story.
We roasted marshmallows and just hung out by the campfire and enjoying watching K having a blast. Watching him made the whole trip worth while. K loved roasting the marshmallows and letting them fall into the fire. As this was his first time it was all about learning about this type of thing. He was learning some science on our trip.
We let K stay up until the fire burned out and then it was off to get ready for bed. We all crashed within in 5 min’s of lying down. What a long and exciting day.

We all got up and went out to the lake. Again tried to take photo’s but K had no head due to the camera light issue. So no luck there; but we had fun going for an early morning walk. We got back to the cabin and started packing up to go and K ran to the car and got him into his seat and refused to get out. Dad “K you got to go brush your teeth.” K “No; don’t want to get out.” Dad “But we need to.” K “It’s too COLD” Isaac and I just had to laugh.
We checked out and headed south. We ate in the car and headed to Wal-Mart. Time for a new camera and so we upgraded just a little. Isaac wanted to upgrade a little more but well I just wanted something that fits in my bag just like my old camera. So I got another Pink camera. We thought about going to Hilton Head but changed our minds as we want to save that for the next trip. We went to Historic St. Mary’s GA and walked around took lot’s of neat photo’s. For those who don’t know us or don’t know us well; we love to go and do that off the tourist charts type of stuff. We are planning a trip back there this year; it’s a very relaxing place to go. We found it by reading signs and saw it was historic. I recommend all to read those signs and get off the beaten path and explore. You just might find that place you want to come to again and again. What better of a place to be that doesn’t cost you a ton and you learn things about history and best of all you can RELAX. We spent a few hours there and then we’re off again. We drove right on through to Palm Coast and then we stopped for Dinner and to walk around at Target. Nothing fancy just breaking up the ride home. We finally got home at 10:48 so not much time to relax so K was up until midnight and I was up until 2 washing Isaac’s work clothes and then I crashed.

Monday - CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN put everything away wash laundry clean out cooler clean the car. LOL but well worth it. We had a great time.

I was asked to post some of my scrapbook pages..just starting to now

The 1st page I ever did. I wasn't really into scrapbooking at this point so didn't know where to get all the fancy papers. Just used the baby boy kit from Wal-mart.

0> This paper came with his book. Classic winnie the pooh which I picked because that was his nursery theme. At this point I had found some stickers on ebay that would match the classic winnie the pooh theme and easter since this was his EASTER page.

Yeah no photo's yet but they are sitting and waiting for my next lump of free time to drag out all the supplies to scrap some more.

Trunk or Treating 2008

This is a yearly tradition that we do. We go to the Church and visit the Pumpkin Patch and have Hot Dogs/Popcorn/Drinks (Water/Soda/juice)/Ice cones. Then we go Trunk or treating. People from the church come and they decorate their cars/trucks and hand out candy to the kids. This is KK's 2nd year of going and he looks forward to it every year.

Look Mom I can Lift this Pumpkin over my head.
